Restating a comment directed at you (and others)? I'm glad you can tell yourself when you're wrong, but you still don't do anything about it.

And who said the X-wing's wings were for lift? They obviously have anti-grav to allow them to take off vertically. They don't need to produce mechanical lift at all!
