Question about original Episode IV

Hello,

I have a question which may have been discussed before here, or elsewhere, so I apologize if this is old hat, but I haven't come across an answer yet.

Remembering back to the original movie release for Episode IV, and subsequent TV play in the early 1980's, when Luke and Obi Wan meet and are back in Obi Wan's hut, instead of finding out that his father fought in the "clone wars", I swear that the original dialogue said "colonial wars"..... Was my hearing off?

Sadly, my old copies of the TV movies got lost in a move and I haven't been able to verify it. I've asked some other folks, whose recollection is as rusty as my own, and they seem to think there could be merit in what I'm remembering. Hence, all the talk about "colonial fighters" etc....

Can anyone help?

Again, sorry if this is something which may have been already done.... I just can't seem to find any info about that particular.

It's alway been the Clone Wars.

Maybe you're mixing up your memory with 'Battlestar Galactica,' where the ships were referred to as Colonial Fighers.

If it's any consolation, I thought the villian's name was "Garth Vader" for a couple months back in '77!

Edit: Oh forget it...do a Google Image Search for 'Garth Vader'. Its a picture of Vader in a cowboy hat.

BTW: TheCassidy, they were Colonial Vipers. I'm not sure I recall them ever being called Fighters.

I know they were Vipers you frigging nerds but a lot of the the BSG websites refer to the fleet as Colonial Fighters. I just chose to show a Viper.

Plus, I was trying to be funny...an oversight in the name of comedy.
