I’m a little similar to yourself, but was fortunate enough to be able to put Harmy’s Despecialized Editions onto a USB stick, and plug that into the back of my TV set. It works beautifully, and saved me having to relearn how to burn discs and buy a burner and discs, find the software, and read the manuals!
I’m told I just have to copy and paste any new versions onto them and they’ll work fine too. Harmy has done v3 of ROTJ already in HD and 4K/UHD, and is working on the other two OT films.
It may be worth checking out a SUB stick as an option too?
