With number 3 I think the implication is that Din could die while helping Bobba Fett so he goes to see Grogu one last time in case he dies, but I do agree that the Bobba Fett show is just really bad. The stuff about Grogu studying under Luke for 2 years is clearly a retcon cause everyone, rightfully, complained about their reunion in Bobba Fett. I don’t think episode 1 is actually confusing at all, yeah some stuff feels out of order, but it doesn’t feel confusing to watch. But after reading your post I think I mostly agree with you that the structural stuff of the opening to season 3 is odd. The opening scene is there solely for people who didn’t watch Bobba Fett. However I think it probably would have been better if the opening scene was instead Din going to Bo Katan to ask about joining Mandalore for the opening scene, she says she’s given up, then Din goes to Navarro because now he needs a droid to watch Grogu if something goes wrong, the only droid he trusts is IG-11 then after he needs the part he immediately goes to Tattooine, Then to Mandalore. I’m wondering if the issue is that there was some studio mandate that Grogu needed to reunite with Din in Book of Bobba Fett, because Bobba Fett wasn’t written or show-run by a different team it was the same show runner and same writer so that would be the only thing that makes sense as to why there would be structural issues with the beginning of season 3.
