Hello everyone,

I’m new here and looking forward to exploring this site.

I’m not new to Star Wars however, having fallen in love with this universe when I went to the cinema to see Empire Strikes Back on original release at the tender age of 6. It terrified and delighted me in equal measure. After that I built a large collection of Star Wars toys which I loved and played with over many years, before (tragically) giving them away in the early 90s.

Anyway, I’ve continued to enjoy all the Star Wars films released over the years, some more than others. The more recent films have their faults, but there is still some good in them. I just sometimes watch them and wish they could be better, and always think only relatively small changes would be needed to allow me to embrace them fully, as I want to. Then one day I stumbled across a fan edit of the recent Obi Wan series that improved my enjoyment of it so much more than I could have expected. So I’m now keen to see if high quality fan edits can similarly improve my enjoyment of other more recent (prequals onwards) Star Wars output.

I’m looking forward to reading about the different options on this site and trying some of them out.

Hello all,

Kegi here.
I, like everyone else here, am interested in seeing the OT in their original Theatrical cuts.

I’m curious, though it isn’t a cost-effective way of watching it, if anyone knows if there is a way to get a hold of the original theatre projector reels from back in the day. Just wondering, at a minimum, how much they’d go for and if it’d be worth it to invest in procuring a copy of it.

Hi, I’m a new member to the site. I need some contact info please. I had a great time reading through the OT crew member list and see that my channel is used there 2 or 3 times for source material. I love that the fans are getting use of the info, though the name of the channel is listed incorrectly. It has the YouTube channel that the content came from as ‘Sci Fi Central and Pop Collectibles’ but several years ago, it was changed to simply … ‘Star Wars 100 Interviews.’
There is a vast source of even more material on the channel, 113 separate interviews, to date, plus I am returning to the U.K. to film many more interviews with cast and crew next month (May 2023). So, please feel free to continue to use my channel as reference and can I please ask that the channel source name be updated to Star Wars 100 Interview?
Thanks,
D.J.

Greetings!

I’ve been a longtime lurker, quietly soaking up many of the incredible insights and some of resources shared by this community, and I’ve finally decided to join in on the fun. I’m a huge fan of everything Star Wars, though part of my focus will be unrelated restoration projects. Looking forward to being part of this community.

Hey everyone. Glad I found this place. I’m a 77-Clubber and been editing on and off for many years. I started on a Mando season 3 fan edit and wanted to see what sort of communities were out there and found this place (actually web searches have brought me here many times before but I never joined).

Hello friends!

I’ve been quietly visiting OTC since roughly 2009, but never really considered participating until now.

Recently though, I saw some great work on the 1997 restoration front and thought I could be of some use.

I’ve been planning on making my own fan edits for some time as well. We’ll see if they ever get off the ground.

Hope to see you all around!

That’s great! Thanks very much … and I hope the group enjoys the 113 vid interviews with SW cast & crew on the channel. They come from a TV series that was close to airing on Australian TV - but it didn’t quite make it.
BTW, 25 more ivs to be filmed in May (2023). Most of my interviews last about 10-minutes, many, much longer. (Anthony Daniels 20+ minutes).
I have only shown a small proportion of what I have filmed, so far. Just reach out if you have any questions.

Greetings and May the 4th be with you! I was a lurker for a while but decided today’s a fine day for my debut. Chances are I’ll remain a “lurking member” after this post, though. Hope you all have a blessed day.

Hello! I am ValHam. I’m probably gonna be active more on the Discord, but since this seems like one of the primary Star Wars forums, I’ve decided to make my presence. When I watch the Original Trilogy for the first time, I want it to be something definitive, which is why I’ve joined a previous Star Wars forum, and now here. So, Hi.

MTFBWY, Always.

Hi everyone! I’m Fireowl. I’m not proficient in English, so I just want to thank you for the welcome and maybe take a look at this site. I’m looking at some fanedits these days (with some difficulty since most of them are in English without subtitles, poor me) and I happened to be here.

Hiya

Thanks for letting me join. Am from Toronto, Canada and very excited to find an OT fan site. ( Just hooked the FB page)

This place is massive! I expect it will take me a while to orient myself but that will make for a great week or so!

Salutations! I’ve been lurking on these forums for a long time, just now deciding to make it official and register. I’m always interested to read about fan projects, and for example the differences between video or audio presentations. Thanks for having me.

Hello,

I’m new here after hearing about the D+77 project. I remember having heard about despecialized Star Wars editions quite a while back. I was pretty disappointed with Disney’s 4K Star Wars releases due to lower quality HDR and keeping all the added clunky CGI. That CGI sticks out even worse because it was rendered in SDR, so it’s missing the extra lighting info on the HDR scans.

Fans just want the original. Why is it so hard to give fans what they want? With Disney losing so much money lately, this would be an easy win for their company.

Hello everyone.

Just found this forum and decided to join. I’ve been a sci-fi and fantasy fan since a very young age (now almost 50). Star Wars (specifically the George Lucas era and EU) has always been a favorite franchise of mine.

I claim no particular talent, but I do dabble a bit in the creative side of things. I’m not a professional video editor, but I’ve done some personal projects so I’m not entirely in the dark regarding the effort that is needed to accomplish what many talented fans have created. I’m not a professional writer, but I’ve had some ideas for stories that I really should commit to bringing to a full realization. Again, understanding and appreciating the time and talent that many fans have shared.

All of that to say, I’m intrigued by and enjoy the creativity of what committed fans can give back to their beloved franchises. Be it the technical and artistic mastery of editing, FX work, or the wellspring of ideas from storywriters, all have my admiration for their labor.

I might even start my adventure on this forum by humbly submitting one of my own Star Wars story ideas and see how some dedicated fans and loremasters here critique the concept.

Hi everyone,
I’m an old time fan, and was even on here many years ago, though have no recollection of any username or logins.
I’ve been lurking for a while to get the lay of the land on here once more, and looking forward to talking with you all.

“Don’t tell anyone… but when ‘Star Wars’ first came out, I didn’t know where it was going either. The trick is to pretend you’ve planned the whole thing out in advance. Throw in some father issues and references to other stories - let’s call them homages - and you’ve got a series.” - George Lucas

Hey, gang. I’ve been an occasional lurker here for a LONG time and wanted to introduce myself. Signing up officially because, frankly, I wanted to research what latest projects exist in the 10 (?) or more years since I first visited. I see LOTR getting a new 4k scan (!) and lots of other projects. Seriously love the passion from you guys! Now that I thought of it, gonna search to see if anyone has scanned ROCKY!

I am honored to join you.

Been a Star Wars fan for decades. My passion is The Expanded Universe (Legends), The OT, and The Prequels. While I do enjoy aspects of The ST, and the Disney+ shows, I am not a fan of the retcons and alterations to sacred characters, particularly Master Skywalker.

That being said, I am Warsian through and through.

Hello! I thought I would finally stop lurking on here and finally make an account. Like everyone who joins here, I do love Star Wars and while the recent outings haven’t been perfect (I’ve been taking a break on sequel trilogy stuff sans Mandalorian) I do ultimately like all of the movies.

Hey OT.com!

Like most of you, I’m sure, I’m just a fan of film and alternate versions of them. Especially Star Wars. More so, I love learning about them and discussing them! Finding the original trilogy on dvd/Blu-ray became my first serious attempt at collecting anything and my fascination with finding other interpretations of films has only grown 🤘🏻

Send me your fan edits of any film! I’d love to see them!

Lifelong SW fan (still got my original pillowcase and duvet cover set, as well as ‘The Story of Star Wars’ lp that allowed me and my brother to relive the film in our heads as we went to sleep every night)… from the trailers I’ve seen, really looking forward to watching the OG trilogy in 4K. Looks like some incredible work has been done, so well done and a big ‘Thank you!’ to all concerned.
