My ROTS edit is done except for some sound tweaks. I actuall went through it last night and duplicated the file then went in and hacked out more stuff. The version I put together last night is 1h 45min long, and is maybe a bit too cut down, it exercises the story thread of anakin's premonition about padme dying in childbirth and his turn to evil is strictly due to his own lust for more power. As a result some good moments in the movie had to be truncated, like the bulk of the opera scene and a few other parts. But I also have the other edit which clocks in at 1h 57m and still contatins the Vader "Nooooooooo"

Niether of my ROTS fan edits use any of the deleted scenes from disc 2 as I didn't find any of them to be partidcularly good. And with all the technical issues I've had trying to get the deleted scenes from AOTC thats kind of a relief. If I had used any of the scenes I would probably use the first Mon motha scene, and MAYBE the Yoda scene, but probably not. the Yoda scene seems pointless and the Mon Motha scene is very dry, and for some reason Bail acts very femine which is odd and distracting. It would be cool to show both these scenes strictly for the their OT connections, but I don't like either quite enough to add them back in.

I'm hoping to have both versions of ROTS burned to dvd this week (I could use the HDD space) and submitted to the contest.

I'm trying to suss out a way to redo the opening crawl. I've tried doing it in finalcut but it looks like crap. I have afterffects but no clue how to use it

If I make a new crawl I will delete the scene in palpatine's office at the beginning and just put in the crawl that the chancellor has assigned Obi and Ani to protect Padme while she is on coruscant. If I have to keep the original crawl then that scene has to stay and I have to go back into one or two other scenes and reinsert dialogue about the military creation act and the seperatist movement, since niether of those are refered to in the current edit. The seperatists, count dooku, and the military creation movement are all things that are revealed through Obi-wan's investigation.

Anyone have any suggestions about how to redo the crawl on a mac?
