The problem is both that there is too much content and too little. There are a lot of random fluff and side-stories in this season, and they’re kind of fun, but they feel like distractions. At the same time, important events do happen. These deserve more weight than they receive, but in order to do that, you would need to build up getting to them, and that connective tissue doesn’t really exist.
I’m thinking that the best thing to do may be similar to how Archbagel reordered events to place the prison ship adventure between the Grogu job and the decision to free him in season 1. In other words, take some of the random stuff and recontextualize it as part of a psychological journey to what becomes more of a tentpole moment.
