Just watched a clip from one of our fellow forum members on YT with regards to changing the Emperor’s arrival to the beginning of the film which while thinking the conversation seemed rushed with relation to Vader continuing to search for Luke, it actually wasn’t a bad idea I thought. Also, was Jerjerrod merely a Moff and not a Grand Moff like Tarkin? Is that why he looks like he did with the cap while Tarkin obviously was of a higher rank…
Yeah I’ve seen this, and I get the appeal from a flow stand point. But I can’t help be feel like (intentional or not (but I belive it was intended)) the genius of the contrast between Vader’s arrival and The Empeor’s, gets lost. Like all the way through the last two films Vader is the “Big Bad” and while we see him kneel to Palp in ESB, his crew treat him as law. But then While the opening of Vader isn’t on its own strong, its meaning is CLEAR once Palp arrives.
Vader got a couple of officers and a few troops in a small hanger. The Emperor gets a parade of TIEs circling the DSII and HUGE hanger filled with Row after Row of troopers and officers. It sets up the power dynamic so well its would be such a shame to lose that. It will be intersting to see how the flow of the film feels once Adywan has implimneted his changes to the Jabba’s Palace squences.
