Well people who hate young anakin ghost are going to hate this. In a new book they’re going to explain why he’s young as a force ghost.

Which book is this?

“From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi”

Those Certain Point of View books aren’t really canon, I think.

They are.

Not exactly

There have been a few tangents on this thread where discussions have gotten a little off topic, but 18 post dedicated to a novel about events that have nothing to do with the fan edit, other than they a both Star Wars, has got to be a record. We do also have threads discussing books on this forum, but point taken. The book doesn’t matter to this.

Is there a danger, that as Disney keeps releasing OT era tv shows, that these edits will never be finished?

Hopefully not, but if there is, I’ll have your shuttle standing by…

Why would they affect Ady at all? It’s not like he works on the shows.

I don’t know if the original Falcon gun turret targeting graphic looking so good in The Force Awakens and Solo influenced reverting back. I like the version Ady made for the original ANH:R but the classics look great.

I beleive they are asuming these edits take those shows into consideration.
For clarification Kurgan, they don’t. As for as I can tell this edit is being made with the asumtion that only the main three theatrical trilogies are canon. As far as changes made to honor this I believe there are only a few nods towards the prequals as they have more chononical inconsitancies. For everything else it either fits with the Revisted canon or it doesn’t but for the most part I don’t think these edits effect any canon unless that canon already doesn’t fit with the OG trilogy. The biggest change it will have is Anakins appearance and (if plans are still as written) the death of Boba Fett. Seeing as new canon has plenty of holes and pugs for the holes that casue more holes I wouldn’t worry about it.

Just watched a clip from one of our fellow forum members on YT with regards to changing the Emperor’s arrival to the beginning of the film which while thinking the conversation seemed rushed with relation to Vader continuing to search for Luke, it actually wasn’t a bad idea I thought. Also, was Jerjerrod merely a Moff and not a Grand Moff like Tarkin? Is that why he looks like he did with the cap while Tarkin obviously was of a higher rank…

Was Jerjerrod ever referred to as ‘Moff’ in the film? I thought he was only referred to as ‘commander’ because he was the commander of the DSII.

Yes, he was definitely a Moff. I don’t think he was a Grand Moff anyway so I guess I answered my own question… :p

Are the childish moments being removed like lines like bantha poodoo and other similar scenes making it less prequel like?

I guess it’s a silly sounding word, but it’s subtitled as fodder, and considering it’s being used by a gangster in the context of “we’re gonna feed you to the fishes” it never really came off as childish to me. Even in Phantom Menace it’s only used, what… twice maybe? It only really sounds childish to me when it’s used as a curse word because it’s hard to escape the poodoo -> poo -> sh|t connection. And since it means fodder, using it as a curse word doesn’t even make sense. Am I putting too much thought into this? hahaha

Anyways, when it’s being used as a threat, it works for me, even if some people think the word sounds childish. So I think it should definitely stay in ROTJ.

But when it’s being used as a curse, it doesn’t work for me. So, unrelated this is thread, I would cut out the scene of Sebulba shouting poodoo after he crashes in TPM.

I can’t I hear it as anything but poopie sorry i know it’s supposed to be a threat but i don’t hear a threat when jabba says it and it hurts jabba the almighty gangster says poopie. just like the one of the villains of the prequels is basically count dookie.

Yeah I’ve seen this, and I get the appeal from a flow stand point. But I can’t help be feel like (intentional or not (but I belive it was intended)) the genius of the contrast between Vader’s arrival and The Empeor’s, gets lost. Like all the way through the last two films Vader is the “Big Bad” and while we see him kneel to Palp in ESB, his crew treat him as law. But then While the opening of Vader isn’t on its own strong, its meaning is CLEAR once Palp arrives.

Vader got a couple of officers and a few troops in a small hanger. The Emperor gets a parade of TIEs circling the DSII and HUGE hanger filled with Row after Row of troopers and officers. It sets up the power dynamic so well its would be such a shame to lose that. It will be intersting to see how the flow of the film feels once Adywan has implimneted his changes to the Jabba’s Palace squences.

If taking the prequels into consideration how do you deal with the I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi. when it was because he promised qui gon?

It’s pretty simple: not taking the prequels into consideration!

He took it upon himself because of the promise to Qui Gon. Just because he leaves the last part out doesn’t mean the first part isn’t true. The rest isn’t necessary for this film, so no need to add it.

Preferred Saga:
1,2: Numeraljoker extended
3: L8wrtr
4,6-9: Hal9000
5: Adywan

It’s true, from a certain point of view.

Yeah it just seems with qui gon now it seems like it makes it like he felt obligated more than it being his own decision but maybe I’m reading it wrong.

So I might sound utterly stupid but… Is there a release of Adywan’s Rotj or am I just crazy… and if not, when?.

No there isn’t, and we don’t know yet. ANHR:HD will release first, and after that It may take several more years. Adywan takes his time on these projects.

Wasn’t it so, that he makes ANHR:HD and ROTJR:HD more or less simultaneously?
And that they will be released at the same time respectively shortly one after another?
