For starters, they’ve been way too trigger happy to announce new projects and build up hype.

But lets look at every production issue they’ve had since 2013: (and if I’m wrong someone correct me please)
Michael Arndt leaves Episode VII, Rogue One has major reshoots and it seems to have had its entire third act rewritten, Solo sequels abandoned, rumored Josh Trank Boba Fett film abandoned (and any potential Boba films get cancelled with Solo’s reception), Kenobi film abandoned after Solo’s reception, Zach Snyder departs a Star Wars project, the two GoT guys were supposed to make a Star Wars project at one point, Colin Trevorrow leaves Episode IX, Kevin Feige’s film canned, Rogue Squadron from Patty Jenkins canned, Lindelof out of new Star Wars project, and last but not least, Rian Johnson’s trilogy may never happen.

I’d say this is normal studio politics and business dealings going south, and, because of the internet and obsessive fan culture, we’ve been let in on a lot of the drama, but it still feels like problems have occurred more likely than they should.

I’ve heard some say that Kennedy is a good producer, but not good at running a whole studio. A part of me also feels like this is what happens when you try to treat Star Wars too similarly to something like Marvel.

Either way, I hope this is just a way of weeding out unnecessary projects, and giving more attention to the ones that do make progress, hopefully making the films be the best they can be.
