Return of the Jedi Renewed (released) — Page 19

I echo what cOrpze wrote; a lot of the edit had some good parts, however a lot of it seemed a bit off and unfinished too. Various parts of the film that were truncated or cut didn’t have smooth audio or video cuts, and were quite noticeably cut.
Endor now looks far too yellow, and the scale and perspective of the re-done Death Star and Endor shots look incorrect. I could go on, however I think that cOrpze covered the other noticeable things in the edit.

Using non-ROTJ music seems out of place, and many editing choices seemed to be borne out of a subjective dislike of the film and story, rather than making cuts in order to improve the film. The story is the most important part; removing things simply out of disliking them (such as removing Ewoks, Obi-Wan’s “point of view” line, and most of the Jabba’s Palace sequence etc) detracts from the overall story, and breaks the flow of the film.

To each his own; it’s your edit, so you can do things however you wish!

I never said that I loved ROTJ. It’s one of my least favorite SW movies. So yeah, those were subjective changes which I don’t think break the flow. All major plot points are still there.
I agree that some effects look not perfect, but I never noticed odd cuts with shots or music. Plus, Endor looks like in TROS, just more vivid.
Not saying that this edit is for everyone, just pointing out some things.

Just watched it, and I LOVE IT!!!
You nailed it!! I love how you included music from the Prequels. It ties the story together for me. Well done!! I was genuinely moved at the end when Luke was saying goodbye to his father, and Anakin killed Palpatine and was finally rid of his evil.
The theme from the Mandalorian season 1 finale you included was a nice touch.
Before I watched this movie, I only enjoyed a few minutes in the end with Luke and Vader. But I enjoyed every single second of this edit.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this. You have such a gift. Thank you for putting in all the work to make this. I appreciate it so much. My dad and I are both avid Star Wars Fans, and I can’t wait to watch it with him.
