Hey g00b! I’ve been itching to rewatch rebels—i truly love the characters and story at the heart of it—but the pacing and general tone definitely leave something to be desired. Needless to say this edit seems to address exactly those issues! I’d love a link whenever you come back around. I appreciate the work you’ve put into this!!

Wow! Just stumbled onto the project! I’ve been wanting to rewatch the show, but it felt a little daunting. The episode count in these edits and the polishing you’ve done sounds like it’ll make for an awesome rewatch for me and a perfect first time watch for my son.

I shouldn’t be too far off finishing this project! I’ve just had to recover from a hard drive failure which has only resulted (after some hard work) in me needing to remake the last episode (which I was in the process of anyway). Hoping I’ll be able to finish the project to V3 for all of you soon! 😄

And that’s all the episodes to V3 standard! I’ll be working on polishing and feedback when I find the time but for now I’ve very happy with how this series has come out! Hope you all enjoy! 😄

I’m thinking of making a season 0 called Tales of the Rebels focusing on the Ryloth arch with Cham Syndulla from Clone Wars (as it’s not in EddieDeans edit) and the Hera arch from Bad Batch. Is there anymore ideas of what I could include here? 😃

It is in my edit! Season one, episode six. The original version of that episode didn’t feature Cham, but after he returned in the Bad Batch, I completely changed the episode to put him in focus.

So it is! Not sure how I missed it… I must have watched it while drunk one night 😂😂 I might edit the arch anyway for fun! Hahaha

No preview clips (Not sure what I’d show off here as most of my edits are just cuts), if there’s anything you think would make a good preview please let me know! 😃

I’ve started adding subtitles and another layer of polish onto the series, so as I go through you’ll see those become available. I’ve also started playing around with adding HDR and utilising AI upscaling to potentially provide a 4k HDR version of the series, I’m not sure if this will be released but at the moment I’m enjoying the beginning stages of trying to make it happen!

Some examples of the HDR color correction work that’ll be apart of the 4K release (or might see a 1080p release) Note that at this stage this is not apart of the 1080p versions uploaded.

The recolored ones you posted definitely look sharper. To my eyes, the difference is most clear in the 3rd comparison. In the 2nd photo you can definitely see the change in the lightsaber.

Out of curiosity, do you know if the 4k files will be substantially larger or somewhat close in size to the versions you already released?

At the moment the 4k upscales are substantially bigger… like the first episode is 17gb. I can likely make this smaller by running it through HandBrake with some slight compression to give a few options for downloading.

So far, the AI upscaling is definitely worth it (imo) but it takes a while for me to upscale each episode. Once I’ve got all the episodes upscaled I’ll do some more experimenting on how to reduce the files sizes to make it more accessible to download.

If I’m not able to reduce the size, I’ve changed where I host the edit to TeraBox (as it gives me much more room to play with) and I’ll slowly be uploading a few direct download options there as well instead of just the compressed files.

I’ve found a way to significantly compress the video size of the 4k version. 17gb down to 4gb (for the first epsiode). It should come at very little (if any noticeable) compression to the files. I hope this makes this version more accessible as I believe it’s the better version of the edit 😃

Hi, I’ve just finished watching The Clone Wars Refocused after years of bouncing off the originals due to various “kiddie” elements, and tried the first episode of Rebels - and have immediately bounced off it due to the “I’m a coooool duuude with a ruuude ‘tuuude who’s too cool for school” main character 😅

I’ve heard the series gets much better and is worth watching - but I think I’ll need a good fan edit to get me there! Could I please have a link to your version? It seems just the thing I’m after.
