The Game (1997) Criterion Collection LD Release

I recently had a scan done of the 1998 Criterion LD release of “The Game”, directed by David Fincher. A classic and underrated film. This release is significant as it includes a stereo audio track not included in any future release.

If anyone’s interested, you can download it here: https://archive.org/details/the-game-ld

Always interested in unique audio tracks.
Part 3 of the audio appears to be missing.

someone should just upload all of the available LD tracks on there, i doubt it will ever get taken down.

I will inquire about that, I believe I was told that part 3 suffers from drops in audio so that may be why it wasn’t included in the download. It’s not a perfect release, but they did what they could.

Many LaserDiscs have yet to be preserved online, unfortunately. Scanning them isn’t easy no doubt.

A stereo audio track is on the ARROW Region B BD. It’s DTS-HD MA 2.0 May not be the exact one from the Criterion LD, but stop lying about not included in any future release.

Do you have a list of titles you own? Most have been already done.

Edited your beyond lazy typing, and lacking punctuation. That’d belong in a separate thread for Laserdisc preservations.

You must live a very exciting life😆
Pardon me for not being the best typist on a half broken cellphone

A stereo track isn’t available on the criterion bluray. No need to piss on him about that . Maybe he doesn’t have a lot of extra free time like u do to know about other releases. What’s wrong with u

Reading comprehension is lacking. The ARROW Blu-ray disc release doesn’t count then? Shame.

Appears as though someone is REGION LOCKED, and doesn’t import. Oh shit…

I wasn’t aware of an Arrow release either, but thank you for bringing it to my attention. I wonder what the difference is between the LD Stereo and Arrow’s version.

Oh the humanity 😅

TRUE! Oh, well…

SE7EN: The Criterion Collection LD to DVD or LD to BD would have been a better project. PERHAPS. Because of a lot of exclusives. But, that’s for a different thread altogether.

Already have seven LD to bluray 😂

Nice. Must have been on a thread here, somewhere. No search function at all on this forum, unfortunately. Could take centuries looking for it.

But a Dolby Surround/stereo track on a Laserdisc compared to DTS-HD MA 2.0 stereo/surround track on a BD may or may not be an interesting comparison.

Hey guys, just to let you know part 3 of the audio has been fixed and will be uploaded shortly to the archive.org page. We now have a complete LD rip of The Game and it’s audio.
