I have a question about the audio tracks. The version of 4K77 that I’m checking out has a track labeled as 1993 Laserdisc Stereo. However listening to this I hear none of the alterations made for the 1993 LD. Any input on this???

There was a mislabeling in tracks 14 and 15 for 4K77. Track 14 is the 1985 English Stereo Remix and Track 15 is the 1993 English Stereo Remix.

In other words: The track labeled ‘1993 remix’ is the 1985 remix and the track labeled ‘1985 remix’ is the 1993 remix

Ahh ok. Sadly the one I have lacks a track labeled 1985 remix but I guess that’d be the 1993 labeled mix then.

4K77 is beautiful. I am looking at version 1.4 and the more lifelike, subdued colours are such a wonderful rebuff of the oversaturated look of the post-2004 releases.

I am running 4K77 through Topaz AI which clears away grain and sharpens details without creating blurriness. It can also apply an additional level of grain afterwards so the end result has consistent grain levels across all shots. I am astonished at how crisp the previews are looking while having just enough noise to avoid the wax dummy look.

I had to downscale the file to 1080p for my hardware limitations and the job will take five days, but 4K77 did so much wonderful cleanup and colour correction that a plug-and-play solution like Topaz can add a final polish to their stunning work.

recently found the no DNR version on a site where it is , ahem , archived . The colors are Gorgeous ! One may have to go with a highly compressed file option to have it to view offline , and there is a very high GB option as well , but even at a lower file size with compression , the colors shine . Only part I found a bit too dark and less detailed were the Jawa canyon and interior sand crawler scenes .Would love to have this on a 1080p blu ray , but I don’t have the system resources .

Hey everyone, is there some place to get the latest version of 4k77 DNR version? (extra points for 4k83).

Please delete if I am not allowed to ask. Thanks.

Best way is probably to check the first post in this thread, and join that other website.

“Don’t tell anyone… but when ‘Star Wars’ first came out, I didn’t know where it was going either. The trick is to pretend you’ve planned the whole thing out in advance. Throw in some father issues and references to other stories - let’s call them homages - and you’ve got a series.” - George Lucas

Is the DNR-AI v2.0 version actually an “official” release of 4K77? Don’t see it listed on the download list on thestarwarstrilogy.com and only on MySpleen so far. (Sorry, don’t keep track of all the people working on it, so not sure if the uploader there represents the team or not.)

No, the DNR-AI 2.0 version is not official.

I’m a bit of a newbie to all this, can someone help explain (or direct me to a newbie-friendly explanation) on how to find and download this trilogy?

Specifically I’m looking to author and burn in 1080p to a bluray for my own personal media use (I’m still old-school and do everything off of physical media becaue REASONS).

TIA.
