It takes a minute and a half when they're timely about it. Most of the ones I see last at least two to three minutes. Some even longer.

Nope, no IR in baseball.

White Sox in 7. Both teams deserve to win one...but I think the Sox deserve it more.

And the fact that Clemens retired...then didn't retire to go to the Astros. He doesn't deserve another championship for that garbage. He's a good pitcher though...but that's just messed up.

What is everyone's take on Bud Selig's decision to order the Astro's to open their roof?

I'll tell you mine. I think he stepped in it again. This is the Astro's park, they should be allowed to do with it as they please. How come he never ordered the roof open any other time in the past four months that it has been shut?

btw: the rendition of "God Bless American" done during tonights game of the World Series (game 3) must have been the worst I have ever heard. Kate Smith would be horrified.

Probably a set up so the White Sox win it. That wouldn't surprise me. They've been getting all the calls. Everything is going their way.

I think they should've been allowed to open or close it on whim. It's their stadium. And this is from a Chicagoan. Even the White Sox said to close it. They didn't care. Only the Astros were whining. They let the decision affect their play. That's just plain pathetic. And you just know that they're going to blame their loss on the dome. Forget the fact that Oswalt choked. They'll blame the dome and Selig.

No, I'm not celebrating. I'm happy for the Sox and the city of Chicago, indeed. But they're not my team. I'm still a Cubs fan. If I were to walk into a bar and someone dragged me into a celebration, sure I'd bounce around a bit. But I'm not actively seeking out a celebration. In fact, everywhere I've been is surprisingly sedate. I thought there would be a bit more excitement, but it's a bit dead. Then again, I don't live right in the city.

Congratulations to the White Sox. Despite sweeping the Astros, all of the games were exciting and close. They only outscored us 20-16. And hey, you've got to get there to win it and at least we go there for the first time in franchise history. Better it be the White Sox than the Yankees, Red Sox, Braves or Cardinals. Now here's to another 88 years without a championship!

(Just kidding if course; that'd still be a better ratio than Houston!)

I surprised, I thought your town would have been going nuts. Perhaps you were on the wrong side of Chicago. I keep forgetting which side cheers for the Cubs and which side cheers for the White Sox?

Then Bossk must have been in the northside of town, when he said it was dead.

Not anymore. Used to be that Madison Ave. was the cutoff between south and north sides. Now, in an informal poll of Chicagoans, 53% of the city say that Chicago is now a White Sox town. Used to be about 20-25% were pro-Sox. Fine with me, you bandwagoneers. Maybe now I can actually get Cubs tickets.

I wasn't in Chicago at all. But I thought there might be more stuff in the suburbs as well. Bulls celebrations were all over the place. Not White Sox, though. Signs and whatnot and an inordinate number of people wearing White Sox shirts all of a sudden, but nothing else.

I just read the ESPN mag special report on the Steroids use in Baseball. Are they doing anything to enforce the actual federal law that makes steroid illegal or what?
