Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam (Turkish SW) is also torrented in many places. There are subtitled versions available also. http://revengeismydestiny.com/ has a version available. Film Threat had an article about a possible prequel being made maybe 2-3 years ago, with original cast but i haven't seen anything more about it.

Other foreign SW ripoffs/takeoffs from the late 70's early 80's:
Japanese SW : Message from Space "Uchu kara no messegi" 1978
Japanese SW : Space Wars "One f the best space war films ever"
Italian SW : Star Crash (w/ David Hasselhoff)
Italian SW : The Humanoid "L'Umanoide"
Brazilian SW : Os Trapalhoes na Guerra Dos Planetas

...and i can tell you all now that "Star Worms II : Attack of the Pleasure Pods" although the title has a familiar ring to it, the connection to SW is nill. But it does slightly reflect THX-1138 in graphic design. I wonder if George is a fan of Troma?....

Would'nt mind seeing this, quite a fan of Star Wars rip-offs, especially the Italian ones...

Turkish is the best, partly because it rips the most. Pay extra attention to the details which went into the special effects. Brilliant 'severing' technique and their model makers matched the SW footage in every detail, truely astounding work. And for those naysayers who say the soundtrack reminds of them of some Indy-pendent film, hogwash! ...only Turkish SW has red wampas...

When your done with the old turkish sci-fi avant-retard-guard, check out the nu-skool:
G.O.R.A. Bir Uzay Filmi
it's the most expensive Turkish film ever, it's a sci-fi comedy with lots of hollywood references.

Thinking about it, maybe G.O.R.A. is what the Film Threat reviewer was talking about when a sequel to "Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam" was discussed.

I think we had this thread where we discussed this Turkish Star Wars film, the italian one, and other crappy SW rip-offs...
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

By the way, who cares about the turkish SW when you can watch the amazingly creepy Turkish ET?

Since i've arrived to these forums, this is the 3rd or 4th Turkish SW discussion.

No reason to stop with just Turkish ET:
Turkish Star Trek
Turkish Wizard of Oz
Turkish Superman
Turkish Spiderman
Turkish Conan
Turkish The Sting
Turkish Exorcist
Turkish Young Frankenstein
...and many more to be discovered....or ignored...

Now, I've read 3 different reviews for the Turkish ET, and I've almost had a heart atack from trying to refrain to laugh out loud at the office. I MUST see this one...

Question: is it OK if I get the "brazillian SW" (Os Trapalhoes na Guerra dos Planetas) and rip it and put it on a torrent just for you guys? I mean, it's VERY unavailable over there (I'm not even sure if I'll find it here). Note that I'm only asking if it's OK, so it dosen't really break the forum rules about copying films and such. I just think you guys should watch it - it IS the WORSE movie ever made by FAR.

.........the......pain.... ..... .... the...... .....h ...hh .hhHh.. horrror...

Brazilian SW is beyond dreadful. It's one of the few movies i own which i'll NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER watch again. it's just... uuug... i have a headache just thinking about it.

The one interesting thing about the movie though is that suppostedly LucasFilm did sue the production company for copyright infringement. I can't remember where i read it but Brazilian SW came out a few months before SW opened and that was the reason for the litigation.

Slowly the SW ripoff movies are making their ways to trrent trackers. Turkish has been around since the beginning and recently one of the Italian ones made it to thepiratebay, so is Brazilian SW makes it there, ce la vie. Yes it technically illegal, but i don't think the anyone except the people who watch the movie will complain.

you've been warned, you'll want those 80 minutes of your life back.... and don't eat the 'fruit'.

I am going to Turkey in 2 weeks. I will keep an eye out for these abominations.

These movies are in the same vein as the HS but get you to that uneasy, oh my i'm really wasting my time/what the heck we're they thinking frame of mind. They miss the mainstream market by several parsecs.

Brazilian SW is a cross between a slapstick comedy/Sid & Marty Kroft adventure using SW references. and in my view, it has no redeeming qualities.

Turkish SW on the other hand, takes the adventures to a new level while at the same time doing some spectacular heavy lifting. I'd be interested in hearing if these movies are still available in Turkey, Yoda Is Your Father. The main actor in T:SW has done tons of films, so maybe these are still in VHS stores. Let us know what you find.

All of these movies are available online at specialty movie sites like Revenge is my Destiny.

OK, I'm going to admit a horrible thing about myself. When I first got a copy of the HS back in March, I seriously watched it about two or three times a day. I don't know what it is, but I have some sort of strange obsession with the HS.

You've actually seen it? Cool.

I belive they threatened to sue but did not for some reason I don't remember now. It was not supposed to be a ripoff but a "spoof", cleary stating that the source of the spoof is SW. It was made in mid 1978, but considering that SW was released here in christmas '77, not much time after the release.

I will try to get the DVD though. I MUST own a copy of the worse movie EVER produced. I'm not even sure I could call it a movie.

A torrent of what? The turkish one? If it's the brazillian one, I'd rather not download it. Besides, I'll buy the DVD for that someday.

If anyone finds the torrent for the turkish ET, please let me know...

I have had the Holiday Special for a year and half now and still havent dared watching it, it is something about my favs from Star Wars making fools of themselves, I dont know.

Brazillian SW Turkish Star Wars and Turkish E.T sound ghastly! even worse than the Italian SW rip-offs which I like, I watch all manner of crap so I may give them a go if I get hold of them one day, but still not dare to watch the Holiday Special...

It's really not that bad after you've seen it a few times. I even accept it as part of star wars now. I would just have to say the two biggest disgraces to the show are Diahann Carroll and Harvey Korman, with their fantasy machine, and comedy acts, respectivelly.

Ah, lemme ressucitate this thread for a while, yes?

Now, I KNOW it is against the forum rules to discuss torrents and other illegal ways of propagating piracy films, but since the turkish films such as turkish et, turkish star wars and turkish exorcist are VERY, VERY unavailable here, and I really wanted to see those films, I was wondering if there was any place I could get those. I've seen those on sale on "5 minutes to live" but after seeing their website, I don't really trust them to pay 20 bucks for each DVD. So anyone got any clues of how can I get those? I am willing to send 15 bucks to the producers in turkey to compensate them, since there's absolutely no way of getting those films (if they still have a listed address, that is...!).

I tried to get that torrent trhough the website Ell the Ewok mentioned, but I was not able to sign up.

If such discussion is not allowed please let me know...

Wish I could help, but I don't know where to find it either. I would like to see a collection of the foreign rip-off Star Wars Movies together, like the Turkish Star Wars and the Italian Star Wars.
