does anyone know exaxtly how long the simpsons has been on t.v., I mean theres tons of seasons and new episodes all the time. When did the first tracy ullman shorts come out?
The show has been on it's own since 1989. Not sure how long it was on Ullman prior to that. So I guess that makes it 17 seasons counting the current run. I think they'll be up around 390 episodes when this season's over. Looooong run. Too bad the last 200 have all s#cked.
I belive it was shown as small short sequences on Tracy Ullman from 1987 to 1989, and from 1989 as the series we know. It's VERY weird to watch a first season episode, which focus on a klasky-csupo-esque family satire realistic comedy, and watch a recent episode which focus on surrealist gag comedy...
And also the animation style is vastly different, and the voice acting. I really can't get any enjoyment out of 1st season episodes anymore. I would say it really became the show I loved during the 3rd season, and died for me around the 10th or 11th.
Off topic, but Ric: You ever watch Battle of the Planets (otherwise known as G-Force)? Or Voltron?
