I could fight you on it, but what would be the point? You'd never listen.

DEAD THREAD

Okay, first of all, I'm not trying to "fight" you. Anyway, why do you assume that I won't listen to what you have to say? Have I given you any reason thus far that you could use to back that statement up? Also, if you really feel so strongly about it, why not just voice your opinion, regardless of who it will affect and who will listen? Think if Rosa Parks had the same mentality when she was on that bus. What if she hadn't taken a stand, because she just assumed it wouldn't change anything?

Now, let's take a look at your original post.

Truely a brave woman. A hero to her people.

RIP

thoughts? comments?

I've highlighted the significant sentences. Let's start with the first one: You say that she's a hero to her people? It's ironic that you would feel the need to place black people into their own sect by classifying them as "her people," because by doing that you are going against what Rosa Parks stood for in the first place. If her act was truly so brave, then shouldn't she be a hero to ALL people? Shouldn't her action be considered an inspiration for everyone, instead of just "her people"?

But that was just a small thing that I wanted to point out. The main thing, the thing that really bothers me about your original post, is that you deliberately specified wanting to hear other people's thoughts and comments, but then as soon as someone says something that you don't necessarily agree with, all of a sudden it becomes a "DEAD TREAD." If you don't want to hear what other people are thinking, then you shouldn't ask them to tell you!
