I may try this weekend with Adobe Audition as a break from ESB rotoscoping activities. Usual steps (for best results) are isolate the fans from the voices as best as possible and use that as a “noise print” to cancel out the fan on the version with fans and audio, than audio can be bumped up/raised clarified with EQ etc.
For a final though, will need to add some wind noise to the scene so it still sounds like wind but not fan and so we can control or raise voices when they do speak. Not sure on software Bobson is trying out, but Adobe Audition isn’t too bad for audio work I have tried in the past…just have not tackled the sandstorm yet. Agree the sound is horrible.
