Guys, how do you go about downloading youtube videos? screen capture or just a converter somewhere? my laptop’s screen recorder is terrible and the website I usually go to for conversions got rid of its URL uploader.
I use the native free video downloader for chrome for Vimeo (google the extension and install)
Not finding an official google youtube extension unless have youtube red service (cash grab), so I use sites (not a fan of downloading client to do it for fear of maleware (I know this can come from sites as well)
I used Y2mate, but then some would not download, but it is good and less pop-ups

works for all but you have to block and many dialogues to close or ignore and just know your anitvirus will constantly complain about the site trying to put adware or unsage. I dont think it is major risk, but it’s not risk free, I download on a dedicated machine (not my main editing) regardless. This site is getting ridiculous now for what you have to block ignore, close ope windows etc. Use only if you can’t find any other tool.
I may start looking at or use some of the ones mentioned in this post or go link below, since they look more “official”

We should probably put this topic in another post, I can move this there if that is the case or there maybe one? existing? I dont mind, but maybe others are looking for this topic and like I said it is probably one that continues to grow.
