I nearly have this scene completed although I thought it was really clunky initially however it is not.
I have improved the film in this part and I have not too because I wanted to see how it should play or could.
I planned to go again on this but my feelings are only the opening wide shot and the first conversation.
In terms of structure I have it but when I initially did the edit I tried to put in a bit too much in.
I have created the elements for the missing shot of the Landspeeder Scanner for which I still never got around to playing with to this day… still.
It could however use an additional shot of Banthas for the leaping on group of Sand people though from the ridge. I can share my rough cut with you on this… Just wondering on the scratch removal front how well the Bantha footage would clean up as in the shot of the one going along the ridge. The guys struggling to mount the Bantha are terrible please don’t bother cleaning that up!
But it is plausible that the other struggling group already sitting up there from this point was meant to be in the film… we continue with the Sandpeople that lept on along the ridge and then back to the shot in the film of the second group cpming toward camera.
Although there is music for the struggling sand people getting up there it is bad and cutting it was a good move. The thing is though the music is totally wrong in this part and that is the main motivation to get it working better.
This also relates to the music being wrong in the Jawas capturing R2D2 in the canyon and restoring that so it’s an edit of 2 parts.
