Yeah, DJ, the same thing happened when I tried to transfer my Faces VHS set. That prompted me to try and find out how to get around the Macrovision and found that this unit has received the most favorable reviews on videohelp.com. It's a little more expensive but is an actual TBC (time base corrector, I believe), something that the videohelp posters think is a necessity in doing any VHS transfer. I never got around to buying one because I discovered this great community and all the LD transfers. Good luck!
