I know there’s better takes of the jango fett actor doing some of the boba fett lines from empire in the battlefront 2 game but what about lines like what if he doesn’t survive he’s worth a lot too me?

I feel I had reasonable success with partially replacing the 2004 Boba dialogue in ESB with video game clips.

“As you wish” sounds great, as I just time-stretched a good delivery from Bounty Hunter which itself seems to be styled after the original line delivery from Wintergreen.

“He’s no good to me dead,” is now, “He’s [not worth anything] to me dead.” It’s not 100% the same line, but I feel it has a little more grit to it.

“What if he doesn’t survive? He’s worth a lot to me,” is now, “What if he doesn’t survive? He’s [worth a fortune to me].” Again, an approximation of the original line but makes for a grittier delivery.

“Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold,” didn’t really have an obvious replacement, so it’s untouched beyond the same mild reprocessing the other 2004 bits have to fit in with the Bounty Hunter clips.

I found Battlefront clips had an added helmet effect too different from the 2004 ESB lines to be easily used.

Where can I hear this Your improvements made me happy.

I know a lot of people come on here and they like to complain, bellyache and feel entitled to other peoples hard work. I just want to say a heartfelt Thank You to Adywan and the other contributors to this project for tireless work. (Also for putting up with some insufferable dregs in this thread). I’ve been following this thread for years and years and will for a long time!! Cant wait for the next evolution of the project.

I’ve noticed something during the start of the film…

Ok so when C3PO says “there will be no escape for the princess this time” or in the case of Revisted “There will be no escape this time” immediately after this is said 3P0 says “What’s that?” and looks up, however the star destroyer is not yet overhead.

If you notice also the music is the same as later when the troops are looking about.

I think this is an editing goof.

The scene order should be 3P0 “no escape this time”

EXT space: The star destroyer fly’s overhead the Tantive

3P0 “what’s that?” looks up hears sound of being clamped in.

To do the sequence like this means that some footage would be lost but it would at least make sense why 3P0 says “what’s that?” to actually being clamped in by the star destroyer rather than before the star destroyer is even close enough to do just that.

Just thinking about the time discrepancy that would also create to lose "what’s that shot in it’s current position, Could this be that unused still shot of the tantive IV model facing camera perhaps a shadow growing over it or something? Anyway I will leave that one with you as it’s a bad goof.

One more big goof is in the build up to the Battle of Yavin.

Luke “Red 5 standing by”

RDD2 is shown beeping and the wings are in attack position.

Gold Leader “Put S-foils in attack position”

Did Luke disobey orders?

That shot of R2D2 is a bad goof I swapped it with a shot from Empire with R2D2 out the back window cockpit matches up too.

Have a good one 😃

Sorry for the double post but I am also thinking about the opening shots…

Ok so We pan down and see tattooine in the distance. Although you have shown a preview of the start there is some issues especially with where tattoine actually is…

I have seen recreations that place the star destroyer higher in the frame is it too low?

So on the second shot we see the reverse view the tantive is coming towards camera and the star destroyer is chasing. The thing is why is the planet matte of tattooine visible?

This very same matte is shown when the star destroyer leaves tattooine as if it is behind and that works well. But in the case of the Tantive being chase we are then shown Tantive from above and there is no planet below and the escape pod flys foward so they can not have yet reached the planet. So my feeling is although it is very iconic and without wanting to take a wrecking ball to the filn this planet matte on the second shot should not be there.

I am not asking you to remove the planet matte but I think it could be an interesting take on the scene that might make it work quite a bit better, And after all it is shown later when star destroyer leaves with it in the background

Thanks for reading and again sorry for double post but it’s only just occured to me how it actually makes little positional sense.

Hey Adywan, I’ve been away for a long time and saw the latest sneak peaks. As usual, you are doing a wonderful job and of course look forward to future sneak peaks, if any. Thanks so much for your great work!

I think he posted them at some point on one of his threads for the SE edits. I remember watching them. But idk if they’re still up.

I like the idea of using Respeecher to fix all lines of boba fett except the new take hal9000 found of as you wish is pretty much perfect and that program is amazing and can improve the rest.

Excuse My ignorance but what is “Respeecher” and how does it work to fix dialog?

Respeecher is a sound editing tool that is able to recreate the voices of anyone regardless of the source audio recording’s quality. It was used to recreate the voice of a 40-years-younger Mark Hamill in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, and a 40-years-younger James Earl Jones in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Anyone tried this on that “You’re mother” line people were going on about in the ROTJ:R thread a couple of years ago?

I remember someone tried that, but it didn’t exactly sound seamless.

I was curious so I went to the website, It says you need to have permission from the talent.
Who here has James Earl Jones’ phone number?

Oh really man I was reallY hoping it could be used to give us the right tone for the boba fett scenes and replace Tim curry seasons emperor with ian mcdiarmid’s voice.

It’s not a program you can download and do what you will with it. They control everything.
You give them the recordings and tell them what you want, and they do it for you. So if you try to use a celebrity voice without permission they’ll put a halt to it.

Ah dash responsible adults restricing our freedom of artistic expression, in the name of public safety. Its like they don’t trust the internet with sophisticated voice and video clone/manipulation software…

… Its probably for the best.

I get it but it’s still disappointing to hear that we can’t fix palpatine’s voice in the part of the clone wars where he is voiced Tim curry who doesn’t remotely sound like palpatine and make better takes for jango’s actor doing boba fett in empire. 😦

Did no one seriously tell Tim Curry that Valorum is pronounced “Vuh-LOR-um,” and not “VAL-or-um”?

In interviews with George Lucas he pronounces Hoth “Hothe” with a long O. So that means everyone else in the world is wrong, right?

Lucas has always wanted actors to pronounce names and places how they think they should be, so as to give an impression of regional dialects/accents which would more than likely exist across a galaxy. Hence the whole H-AH-N/H-AR-N thing with Lando.

Just a quick comparison video…

For this edit i am now using both the 2011 official Blu-Ray and the latest 2020 version. For the most part the 2011 Blu-Ray of ANH has more detail than it’s 2020 counterpart. But in some cases, the 2020 version tips the 2011 one in terms of quality and detail, especially in dark areas. So i have been replacing certain shots in the edit with the 2020 blu-ray.

This video showcases the sources used for each shot in the Homestead Droid sale.

The audio, as usual, is just a guide track and does not represent what the final edit’s audio will sound like.
