Ric,
Listen, there's just something about seeing it for the first time on a twenty or so foot screen. It has a different feel than watching on an interlaced television screen. That's why I went to see it at a Theater first. Besides, I was bored that day and had nothing else to do...

Clark Kent/Superman: Christopher Reeve
Lois Lane: Terri Hatcher
Lex Luthor: John Shea (this is a hard one; before watching L&C I would have easily said Michael Rosenbaum)
Jonathan Kent: John Schneider
Martha Kent: Anette O'Toole
Perry White: Lane Smith
Jimmy Olsen: Michael Landes
Jor-El: Marlon Brando
This is an interesting list because, for me anyway, it shows what versions handled what aspects of Superman the best. The movies excelled in the larger-than-life superhero aspect, messiah parallels, and the history of Krypton. Lois & Clark best showed life in Clark's everyday life as a mild mannered reporter in Metropolis and his supporting cast at the Daily Planet. Smallville is great at showing the influence and importance of his adoptive parents, and brings out Clark's struggles of using his powers for good, but also his wish at times to be normal.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

But I thought the second Lois and Clark Jimmy was pretty good as well. What was his name again?

I actually don't remember him too much, so maybe when the rest of the series comes out on DVD I'll end up liking him best. I just really dislike it when characters are recast. In the DVDs they reveal the reason Landes was replaced was that he looked too much like Dean Cain. I found that to be pretty silly, considering it didn't cause any complications for an entire season. Whatever.

As a random thought, I think that the kid who had sexual fantasies with a plastic bag in American Beauty or the guy from the poker show "Tilt" would be good choices for Superman.
As usual, I'll keep my opinion open about this one until I see it, but man that costume is gay. They may as well put an "S" shield on his boots and his ass just to cover every major part of the costume.

There are reports from various Superman themed websites that Warner Bros and Ilya Salkind have negoiated a deal for the release of the Richard Donner unused footage from Superman 2 This would allow for the creation of a long awaited Superman 2 Directors Cut...............................................The idea behind of this of course is that Warner wants to release new (Special Edition) DVD Editions of 2,3,4 in conjuction with the DVD or thetrical release of Superman Returns..............

So, Nic Cage just had a baby and named him Kal-El, which is pretty funny when you consider that he was tied up in this Superman Movie for a while.
The kid may be made fun of growing up, but at least he wasn't named 'Phineas Hazel' or named after something you eat (Gwyneth Paltrow's baby Apple will most likely have a sibling named Banana or Orange, while Courtney Cox Arquette has little Coco).

Maybe THIS is the direction Warner Brothers should be going in with super hero films...

So I hear that this new film will take place between either the first film (1978) and the second film (1980) or after the 2nd film. That sounds kind of dumb and lazy.
That's the first I've heard of the former. The latter is apparently the direction they're going with it, but Singer is adament the first two films are merely a "vauge history." Whatever that means...

Gwyneth Paltrow wants to have another baby...her reason? She wants a Pair.
Heard that on Jay Leno the other night (hey I only get 3 channels) and I was reminded of it while re-reading the last few posts.

ps. OMG, as i typed this, they just said on the radio that there is a rumor that Gwyneth Paltrow is pregnent with a second child.
