Added to the Letterboxd list and the link to the title.
Back to the Future sort of counts but that was only on Home Video versions aka VHS, not the cinema release.

The Godfather trilogy 4K changes:

The Godfather:
-all optical texts digitally recreated, they’re mostly identical but still look a bit different (however what’s nice is the original Paramount logo was restored to the end, for the first time since VHS)

The Godfather Part II:
-all optical texts digitally recreated, they’re mostly identical but still look a bit different, however the opening “A Paramount Picture” credit is changed entirely to a different font and says “Paramount Pictures Presents” (however what’s nice is at least the original Paramount logo is restored to the end for the first time since the 2001 DVD)
-The 4K version shortens a shot that was meant to be a reel change and intentionally was extended by two seconds or so to accommodate but for reasons the reel change was moved somewhere else and the 2 seconds were left in, they appeared on every past home video release including the 2007 BD, but they were taken out for the 4K version

The Godfather Part III:
-recut twice for home video, initially for the 1991 VHS as the “final director’s cut”, where it was extended from 162 minutes to 170 minutes, all home video releases before the 4K were based off of this cut
-the second recut was done in 2020 and retitled to “The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone”, it’s the shortest running at 157 minutes and has some portions re-arranged as well

https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=785871 (comparison between the 1991 cut and Coda)

the theatrical cut never got a home video release until it was released as a bonus feature alongside the 1991 cut on the 4K set

I really don’t need any of that. Just links, i.e. movie-censorship, to add to the films on the Letterboxd list. I’m streamlining this. Also will add The Saga Cut to the links for The GodFather Parts I & II.
I WILL add the links, of course. Thanks!

Can you at least add for the theatrical and 1991 cut comparison that it’s in German and the broadcast despite being based off of the theatrical cut is still edited for violence and such?
