Theoretical hyperspace physics?

Author
Time

In the awesome Out of the Shadows canon High Republic YA, we are introduced to a character named Xylan Graf who studies theoretical hyperspace physics. His expertise is called on to try and understand the Nihil’s Path engines which allow them to jump in any location without fear of a gravity well. I am NOT smart enough to be a physics major but if I lived in the Star Wars galaxy; I would get a brain implant to augment my intelligence and be a theoretical hyperspace physicist. What kinds of topics and concepts would I be learning? What about hyperspace do you think is theoretical?

With real life theoretical physics, it’s theoretical because we don’t yet have the means to conduct experiments to confirm/deny the predictions the theories make. I’m not sure what experiments Star Wars people can’t make, but what’s theoretical about hyperspace physics is probably just what can’t yet be tested.

I wonder if anyone’s pondered the theoretical physics of space slug anatomy. Somehow these creatures are able to generate a gravity field equivalent to that of a terrestrial planet, and their digestive tract is capable of sustaining enough barometric pressure for humans to comfortably walk around inside them without need for a spacesuit (in spite of any visible barrier between their gullet and maw, which is open to hard vacuum.)

Gods for some, miniature libertarian socialist flags for others.

Maybe the asteroid was just rotating fast enough that the centripedal acceleration was about 10 m/s^2 (they were on the outer side of the belly)
