Yes. Even if the audio turned out to be Dolby Surround encoded it would still be
captured as LPCM 2.0. The decoding to surround occurs during playback by the users’ receiver.
The digital audio on laserdisc is always 16 Bit 44.1 kHz LPCM. The analog audio can be
captured any way want. I will capture it at 24 Bit 96 kHz.
Now I’m just hoping that the laserdisc has the original theatrical soundtrack.How will you know if it’s the original theatrical soundtrack, or not?
The VHS and LaserDisc use the same Dolby Stereo mix. The VHS has a theatrically accurate mix so I assume the LD would be the same
