Hey Anjohan! I watched the V1, great stuff, now we have the Kenobi we deserved. The one that was hidden in the series, as you pointed out from the very beginning, even before the series was half way through. Glad to read that V2 is on the works now, I think the changes you pointed out can help improve the film and the parts you have chosen not to change are the parts I wouldn’t change either for the V2, they work as they are.

About the Haja and Obi-Wan conversation before The Alternate Rescue, I agree with Glogus that the “making amends” should come back, as it explains why Haja accepts to help (It might be too on the nose for some, but to me, it helps clarify he is not a bad guy, just has been derailed from the good path a bit in this hard times, but has a good hart), but I think the scene works as it is, except I would mute or delete one of Obi wan sentences on it. With Kenobi’s determined “and you are going to help me” we don’t need the doubtful “will you help me?” that comes later. I think going from “and you will help me” to Haja’s acceptance/resignation gesture should be enough. A jedi is telling you to give help and you will. Then Haja can “make amends” to keep him there the rest of the film.

Another scene that might (might not) work better is, when Obi and Leia argue in the ship escaping the destructor (I wish there was a way of explaining why they don’t send the Thai fighters immediately or why they don’t obliterate the ship entirely, or at least a way to make the entire sequence 30 seconds long, to avoid the other 2 options). So having Obi wan argue with Leia, then fixing things with her, then talking to an adult (Haja) about making certain she gets home then leaving ship maybe flows better than: argue- Haja talk -fix things with Leia -leave, as it is now.

All in all, love this edit already as is, this is going to be my go-to (or the V2) when I want to revisit Kenobi (which I now want to do, not as with the series).
I think your job and nightmares sequence works really well and does the job way better than the series cut, and the alternative rescue as you call it would feel natural to a newcomer. Your point for Obi not using the force there is solid to me.

Many thanks to Andreas and every one participating in this.

PD: I know this was out the minute I first watched it, but thanks for cutting out the dumbest backflip ever recorded in the history of TV
