That’s fine. It’s a beautiful opening, but it does break a certain amount of tonal and audio centric continuity and a promise when compared to the remaining film (even tho the tone and pace of the film itself is something darker).
I feel like the low, somber musical tones and a tad slower pace help build that continuity and promise.
The opening of a film should always be a taste and a promise of what’s to come imo, and with the “original” opening I promise a very different, dark film. That’s why I had to do my own version. The film is dark, but it’s not a solo character drama in a universe that’s more like a Dark Drama than the adventurous Star Wars.
But hey! He’s making his own edit, so there will be a beautiful dark, character drama down the line. And perhaps it’s a good thing our edits starts different, although similar. 😃
