It's a hard question for me to answer as well. Steve was just so nerdy, but he was perfect for Marcy. Jefferson added a little spice to the cast and I think he and Al worked pretty well together. However the latter couple of seasons started to really suck. All the seasons that Steve was on were ones I liked. Hence my conundrum.

Marcy was always my least favorite character. The flat chested and nagging women next door. I guess she was nessessary to give Al a hateful enemy. Some of Als best dialog comes from his confrontation with her.

I will admit to liking Al's comparison of Marcy to a chicken. That was one funny scene.

The show is on twice a day and the DVDs have sucky picture. I see no reason to buy em. If they leave FX I would buy em in a heartbeat.

Is it just bad transfer or does it have to do with the fact that the quality may have been lacking in the original tapings because this was one of Fox's first shows and may not have gotten that high a quality equipment with which to tape the show?

They may just be worried about investing too much money when the audience isn't that huge. I don't see these seasons flying off the shelves, that's for sure.
