Well, it looks very promising. Glad to see the younglings from their Clone Wars arc, as well as hearing that Cody will be in the season (he was in the version of the trailer shown exclusively at Star Wars Celebration) and am hoping there’s better work on the characters this time around.

Well, as a Bad Batch fan, consider me excited. I had zero interest in the first season or the characters. A few episodes in I realized I dug it. I know there are Prequel callbacks that are over my head, but I don’t care. I like the show, I like the voice work, and I find the animation very interesting.

Digging that Omega appears to be more than just an innocent kid bystander this time around.
I really think a live action version of the Bad Batch would work.

I don’t care for Disney Star Wars like at all. But i loved the trailer for season 2 of this. I’ve never seen the first season so i guess it gives me something new to watch.

Once the series finds its stride, it could stand beside the best of Clone Wars. Omega is a stand out, and each clone in the squad is distinct.

The first two episodes of season 2 dropped today. Watched them both, enjoyed them both. I found the second episode particularly interesting. It was the usual Bad Batch style of story and pace, but a bit more serious than I expected. As with season 1, very interesting style of animation.

Through the years I’ve never made any secret of my dislike of The Shrunken Universe. It’s one of the main reasons I’ve really enjoyed Andor. I suspect that’s the case for a great many people. Reviews for Andor mention it’s detachment from what’s come before as a big part of its success. That and the incredible acting, writing, and production.

All that said; while watching these two episodes of Bad Batch tonight, I realized that it’s still nice to come home for a little comfort food once in a while. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really loved that Echo and Tech, particularly the former, got more screentime and development this time around.

Yeah, the split team story gave them time to focus on them more than usual. For me, that was the best part of these two episodes. The second one felt close to what would make for an interesting live action story.

Wow, ep 3 was really, really good!

Intense, brooding, well-written

That was one of the best episodes, from either season. Really well done.

3rd episode was great! The way the Empire was portrayed in Andor was one of the highlights of that show. The tone, crisp English accents and demeanor of the officers, this really felt like the same Empire we saw in Andor. Cody going AWOL, I hope he tracks down Obi-wan either in this show or Obi-Wan season 2. I’d rather see that than Obi-Wan fight Vader again.

Latest episode was ehhhh, didn’t really add much at all.

I’ve been really enjoying this show so far. I like it better when Star Wars is “loose and easy” and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This latest episode is like a homage to the podrace in tpm as well as the race in Droids, and I like that we focused on Tech, for a change. Will be interesting to see how the dynamic between the team and Sid continues to evolve. Sounds like they’re gonna eventually leave her and join “a bigger cause” or whatever.

The big challenge down the road is gonna be figuring out how to address why all these cartoon characters are missing from other stuff (mainly the OT). Rebels already had to pull a lot of things out of its arse to explain why those people are all absent later on. How much will this show be able to get away with, in that regard?

Not that active on here any more, just popping in to say today’s bad batch episode might be the most soul crushingly boring and inconsequential episode of tv I’ve seen in my life. I miss andor. That is all.

The racing episode at least was fast-paced, it was a sorely needed change of pace to make Tech the protagonist, and nicely set up some possible outcomes for the season, so it ranks fairly highly for a self-contained episode. The last one instead felt like a retread of the first treasure arc, they even end the same way, with the Batch leaving empty-handed, but without significant character development or thought-inducing conflicts this time around. A random, fun adventure, but nothing more.

4th and 5th were just filler. Prequel episode and Last Crusade homage. Disappointed is an understatement. Hoping they get back to the depth and seriousness of episode 3 again.

I’ve always been a massive fan of Trandoshans. So this latest episode was right up my alley! I also loved the canonization of the Kinrath from KOTOR.

Never liked on a fundamental level the premise of the inhibitor chips, but i have to admit, as much as i hate Disney products, i actually enjoy anything outlining the transition between Republic and Empire, whether it’s political or bureaucratic.
I can’t stand Omega though, she’s genuinely insufferable and brings down the whole series, this could be less kiddie show and more universal if the characters were less cartoony.
Too bad because, although TCW started the same way, they improved a lot during the seasons (especially 3 to 5), that’s why i decided to give The Bad Batch a chance in the first place

Honestly, I think Omega is one of the few good parts of the show. Her having to grow up on the run in a troubled world and the Batch having to become a family for her is the heart of the series - or at least it was, I don’t really think they’ve developed that sufficiently well and the novelty has worn off a bit for me.

This show is pretty, but it’s an absolute nothing of a show. I really want to like it but the batch are just blank dull slates and always end up in the same place at the end after omega gets them into trouble.

I didn’t realise there were two episodes this week. Both were a welcome return to some quality and interesting story telling that some of the previous episodes this season have been lacking.

Spoilers:

Good to see the Emperor voiced by McDiarmid! And to see the Emperor on step ahead of everyone. Though I thought Echo leaving the Bad Batch was rushed and over a bit quick. If they are going to develop Tech as a character instead then okay, but given the recent focus on the treatment of the Clones, their service, and the future, that he would have been a focal point for that.

One I didn’t understand is that I thought Bad Batch were meant to be keeping Omega a secret? Not letting her wonder around the Senate in full view of everyone, and likely be caught on the Senate media version of C-Span for everyone in the galaxy to see? Maybe they will address that in a future episode?

Gotta give credit where it’s due, last week’s two-parter was pretty thrilling (even if Echo’s departure felt very unearned) and today’s episode was surprisingly heartwarming. Nice one bad batch.

I thought episode 11 was another of the better installments of this season so far. The animation was beautiful, as it has been all season. But the story, direction, and the “horror film” feel excelled, and really worked well for me.

And it was good to further the story of the Kaminoans, and both the Empire and Emperor’s interest in cloning.

After episode 11 I am very much looking forward to next week’s installment. Only 5 more to go this season.

Really loving this show! Yesterday’s episode was really incredible, think I prefer S2 to S1, but they’re both so great.

Can’t say I can agree. The highs are definitely higher, but so far a solid 50% of S2 has been useless filler.

But episode 12 was a banger, and surprise surprise, it’s a Crosshair episode and not a batch to be seen.
