I’m also hoping for someone to “grab” those from Netflix. I don’t expect stellar quality but it would be a start. I’m based in Italy and can’t see Warriors on Netflix. Furthermore, when I’m in the UK I don’t have a PC good enough to do it. All we need really are those specific segments of the film.
Considering that Netflix removes films continously from their catalogue, the sooner it happens the better. It might be our only chance for a long time.

Is the version on Amazon Instant Video the original cut?

There are some questionable color grading decisions apparently carried over from the director’s cut that have been made with the Netflix version, which is the theatrical cut. (Based on comparisons with the old theatrical cut DVD from 2001.) No idea about the Amazon version.
TM2YC over at Fanres has been working on a proper preservation for some time. He’s also undoing the bad color decisions. I contributed my capture of the original VHS Hi-Fi mono to the project.

Sort of on-topic request…

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread, I’ve been working on a Theatrical Cut Reconstruction blu-ray over on fanedit.org:

https://forums.fanedit.org/showthread.php?tid=8022

I wanted to add the TV-Cut scenes as a bonus but finding them in decent quality is tricky. Tranzor’s TV-Composite DVD (which is on the organ) looks great (a TNT watermarked source) but is digitally corrupted.

So can anybody here point me in the direction of either a copy of that DVD, a copy of the TNT broadcast in good quality, or maybe some other source? Once I’ve sourced those scenes the blu-ray will be good to go.

Thanks all.

p.s. Short demo video of the blu-ray cropping reversed:

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

I made the Theatrical edit using the current BD and the 1080p iTunes copy (which is a small file size, around 4.5 GB, but for now good enough quality to replace the comic book transitions). Turned out rather well.

I don’t suppose you still have it, do you ? I can’t find the theatrical version anywhere.

The theatrical release of The Warriors was released in Germany on bluray. You can find it from eBay or Amazon DE.

Damn expensive though.

lacks the original mono track

Prime’s version has the mono though

Well, shit. I’d rather disc compared to streaming anyway. Unless if someone made their own custom disc, perhaps. Or scanning a 35mm print in very excellent quality.
