Scrappy at least opened the world up to real paranormal worlds once the logics (Fred, Daphne, and Velma) were gone, and even once Daphne came back. I was a pretty big fan of The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo. It had more of a storyline, and Vincent Price kicked so much ass. Don't get me wrong. I loved the original concept too, but I really have no problem with Scrappy.

That said, I thought the reasoning behind the hatred was extremely funny! As far as the thing about the original cast being smart to run away while Scrappy was retarded... well, they should realize by now that the evil goblin or the creeper or the ghost of Sherlock Holmes is a guy in a mask by now, so I think they're pretty stupid for running, actually.

By the way, post #800!
I think the real problem people have with Scrappy was that his voice was annoying, his catchphrases were abysmal and he had to have been the stupidest character on the show (For goodness sakes, he had to have been blind to think that "Uncle" Scooby was brave in any way shape or form).
In my opinion, the only character on the entire run of that show that could be considered worse than Scrappy, was that kid...Flim-Flam(?) from Thirteen Ghosts.
(If you include the Young Scooby Mysteries, the yound Freddie was horrible too.)
