So Ben is persuaded to go and look for leia, knowing the inquisitors would be after him. So, what does he do? Does he wear the same outfit that he is wearing on Tatooine? No, he decides the best way to not stand out is to dress like a bloody jedi. Really?

He’s not dressed like a Jedi though. He’s not wearing his Jedi tunic and while yes he’s wearing a brown hooded robe we know that’s not unusual in Star Wars. Tons of people all across Mos Eisley in SW77 wear them, even the multi-eyed used landspeeder salesman. They’re an easy way to blend into a crowd and hide your face.

The first part of EP 2 is nothing more than fluff. he wasn’t interested in the jedi before yet he is suddenly excited about another jedi being on this planet? Turns out out be a con man. We see this guy happily con a woman and her child out of money. but later he just helps obi-wan?
Response:
That first Jedi approached him not far from the Lars homestead. His entire mission is to keep Luke safe and to do that no one can know about him. That Jedi could have had the Inquisitors right on his tail which would have been an eminent threat to Luke. Now that he’s off planet and safely away from Luke getting the help of another Jedi to help find and rescue Leia would be a huge boon.
As for the fake Jedi. He still helps that woman escape he just did it under the guise of a Jedi. It’s theatrics, it’s easier for people to trust that a Jedi would help them than just some random man. And his final conversation with Obi-wan heavily suggests he’s a Rebel sympathizer and has sent Obi-Wan to meet a Rebel contact.
She tells him that anakin is still alive. But, wait a minute… How does she know that obi-wan thinks anakin is dead? That whole scene just seemed like it was rushed in there just so we could get the anakin reveal in the end, with the super wide head. Obi-Wan’s realisation that Anakin is still alive could have been handled so much better, but they screwed it, just for the Duff Duff moment ending ( UK peeps will probably get the eastenders reference here)

She’s employing the same tactics that Vader used on Luke in the Emperor’s throne room. Working him up and then reading his thoughts/emotions while his control is compromised.
