As a big Frighteners fan, I'm glad that this project is still happening, too. How many official releases have been botched? (or, contain, uh, creative decisions of a deliberate nature) There are even sections on DVD websites now that keep track of flaws, edits, cuts, missing elements, etc. You have to research every title before and sometimes after its release on the 'net to see what possible eff-ups, re-releases, versions, inconsistencies, etc, there are.

Back to the Future II & III had framing issues; Thundercats had an episode with no score on it-- in both cases, replacements were issued. Cartoons not shot in widescreen have black bars mercilessly slapped on them. Widescreen films are mercilessly panned & scanned. I have zero faith in ANY official release until it's playing on my TV. And even then, it's sometimes a crapshoot.
