I have *kind of* mixed feelings about the film after having seen it. There's a lot to develop there, and I think they started developing a lot of different characters at different points in the film, but then I felt as though they got somewhere and then just dropped it and started developing something else. Sort of like a dog that digs random holes all over the back yard and doesn't get to China. I don't feel as though I cared enough for the death of crucial crew members (whereas, if I had seen the TV series, I probably would have cared a lot). I really respect the uncompromising approach to the movie, though, in that it wasn't trying to hang onto every main character.

And on the flipside: I thought the characterisations and dialogue were REALLY, REALLY good. Very funny at a lot of points. And the main characters seemed 3-dimensional and cool. Could definitely see a lot of Han Solo there...

I'll likely watch it another time.
