Funnily enough, that’s exactly what’s happening with this show. They’re taking the Solo approach, where Williams writes the main theme and the composer writes a score that incorporates that main theme.
Overall, I agree with you. These recent shows have been a bit rough around the edges (especially Boba Fett), but it doesn’t feel like a soulless MCU-style product by any means. Favreau, Filoni, and the other creatives clearly have a massive appreciation for the franchise, and it shows. Even if these shows aren’t spectacular, as long as they continue to capture the OT’s childlike sense of adventure I’ll still enjoy them.
