Can I get a link for v3 ? thanks!

Could you provide me the link to v3? I’m not happy about the ‘digital’ look of the new 4k remaster, so I’ve finally decided to settle for the Green tint edition. I’m so happy that I stumbled across this fix for the fellowship - looks awesome. I think this will be my go to solution until some day in the distant future they are doing another remaster… hopefully more true to the original tone the trilogy had.

Just so you know the theatrical edition blu-rays also suffer from altered colors.

I am thinking about making a regrade of the new UHD Transfers of LOTR, so they look like the DVDs, in terms of sharpness and definition would it be worth it or should i stick to this version?

I would go with the UHD versions. They are definitely improvements.

No.

Could I have a link as well? Most recommended or color graded version available if possible, great job on all versions! Thanks!

No.

I was talking about the color grading which I think is an improvement over the original. It still has way too much DNR and EE though.

Ok, I completely agree with that statement.

Would someone be able to provide the v3 edition as well? I have the extended blu-ray set and also bought the 4k edition digitally, but the DNR is a bit much.

I would love a link to v2. I passed on the 4k set because of the dnr. I love my 2011 blu rays, but the color on Fellowship needed obvious work. Glad to see someone has taken the initiative. Is there a good way to donate for this project? Thanks.

Actually, now that I do more examination I found that it depends on the scene. Isengard and Rivendell look much better on the blu-ray, While stuff like Hobbiton and the mountains look much better on the UHD. But if I was watching fellowship I would choose the Blu-ray anyday because of the atrocous quality of the UHD.

I agree that some scenes look better in the BD. For example all of the scenes in The Shire have all the warmth and atmosphere sucked out in the UHD. But other scenes such as the mountains do indeed blow the BD out of the water.

From what I’ve seen and read I’m not too keen on getting the new 4K UHD disks, but would rather be interested in improved versions of my EE discs.

Would it be possible to author BD discs to basically replace the ones in existing box sets that offer a menu, but just with colour corrected video and maybe even the new Atmos tracks that I hear seem to be spectacular? That would probably be the best version of this trilogy watchable as closely to the experience of inserting the old BDs.

I think it would really be best to first have a completely EE sourced version.

Is anyone working on that aka did I overlook something here?

The problem is that much of the EE source lacks luminance detail, which is detail that is preserved in the theatrical blu-ray. So despite other problems with the theatrical blu-ray, they are lesser problems than the lack of highlight detail in the EE blu-ray, IMO.

There’s probably better high-luminance detail in the new 4K blu-ray, though.

I sent a PM to 44rh1n but also posting here in case because I’m not sure how this forum works. Looking for a V3 download (if it can fit on a bluray disc, otherwise looking for V1). Thanks

If you’re looking to burn the film on to a Blu-ray, then V2 is actually your best bet. The encode is Blu-ray compliant, and perfectly fits onto two BD25 discs. So it will be spanned across two discs, just like the official release.

However, V3 would theoretically fit on a BD50 disc, though I haven’t tried it. (The encode should be Blu-ray compliant).

Hi,

I have the EE Blurays, but sadly i never could watch Fellowship because of the green tint…
I thought the 4k version would have been the one to go to,but again i don’t like the result…
I have been waiting for years to watch it again, and so this version is exactly what i was waiting for…
Sadly i don’t have any account on Blutopia or MySpleen, and i can’t register…
So please, does anyone can send me a link or anyway to get V3?

Just sent a PM, but if anyone has a link to any of the versions, I would really appreciate it! Just went to rewatch the EE last weekend and couldn’t get over how bad it looked

If someone can send the link for V2 and V3 that would be great!

Just finished watching the old-school color corrected version I made years ago based on You_Too’s directions and was wondering if someone with serious skills worked some magic, and lo they did! Excited to see it.

Authoring has been discussed, but before that’s maybe happening some day, do you happen to have a version where the existing versions (v2 or v3) are combined with the (I hear) fantastic Atmos tracks? That would probably be the best of all versions you could currently get…

If someone could send me the link to this version, I’d be really thankful!
