For three years (2017-2020) I had no internet access whatsoever and had to rely solely on phone data. Were it not for CDs and the music I had stored in my external hard drive I would have gone insane.
The experience left me with a newfound appreciation for physical media, and on that note I wish I could own streaming service original productions such as The Boys on Blu-ray.
Ditto! I buy physical media for the stuff I want, even if it means going on eBay. I bought a used Playstation 2 because there is no way to experience ps1 or ps2 games from that era without owning the actual thing.

Idk, buying digital media feels like a half-assed middle ground. After all, you only really own it so long as the store you bought it from is still online. A disc won’t disappear when the label goes out of business. I prefer the limitless options of digital. I could never afford to buy all my ever-changing music collection, but online I can have it for free or on the go for a small subscription fee. I feel like it’s a better deal.

I don’t consider digital media to be something that you ever really own, but if it works for you, it works for you. I just bought Quincy Jones’ “The Dude” off of eBay even though most of my listening will come from the rips for my iPod. I’ll mostly use the CD when I’m driving around in my Toyota, but at least I’ll have the disc in case Apple declares my tech “obsolete” with a simple update. That’s what works for me.

In regards to both Anakin Starkiller and Eyepainter, I can see what you’re trying to say, and do kind of agree, but with Bandcamp you can download the songs, not as in download as in Spotify download with no files you can access, but actually downloading files to the computer, so even if Bandcamp went out of business (God I hope not) the files separate to Bandcamp would still be there. So that way I consider that I own it because you can access it without having to go to an app or site.

When you work in customer service and live in a hick town where everyone is an entitled old male Karen with a fragile ego, you don’t have a choice.
Besides, I can testify to the effectiveness of Discord because I myself found a few support groups after calling the national suicide hotline. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Discord. If that isn’t a winning recommendation, then nothing is.

Still can’t get back into the OT Discord after leaving in a moment’s folly because only mods can send invites and none of them are active except one who responding saying they didn’t have Discord set up so couldn’t help. Is anyone else having this issue?
