I think that's a great idea. With the bulk of site traffic obviously going to the Preservation/Fan Edits forum right now, I think there is enough interest in different subjects to warrant some new forums or sub-forums. I'm thinking it could go something like this:

Preservation and Fan Edits

Star Wars releases and ongoing projects - (official project threads and release info)
Non-Star Wars releases and ongoing projects - (official non-star wars project threads and release info)
General preservation and fan edit discussion - (requests, how-to's, and technical discussion)
