I had the same thing when I worked at a pizza place. I was constantly told I was too slow at the dishes, and never got faster. I guess I’m just careful and thorough, and it’s hard for me to maintain speed in a repetitive task like that we’re I’m likely to drift off.

Glad to know I’m not alone

I’m feeling emotionally empty, none of the people I’m talking to on my dating apps stir anything in me, my faith in my job is non-existent and I don’t feel at all enthusiastic about my search for grad school.

So apparently, my dad has Parkinson’s………

That’s tough. It’s not the worst disease someone could have, though. My grandfather and my dad both have it (the latter hasn’t been officially diagnosed, but he has the early symptoms of it). My grandpa’s been pretty positive about it and has been doing quite well. His strength has definitely gone downhill, but he’s been persistent about working on improving, and he has gotten better at controlling some of his shakiness.

From what I know of you, you’re pretty young still. Don’t give up yet, but looking for another job might be a good way to go! It’s a common human experience to go through a slump like this. Just realize that it’s generally temporary. It might help to try diagnosing the root cause. Is the daily grind of a job you don’t like keeping you down? Is it a feeling of exhaustion–do you maybe need a holiday? Is it the effect of COVID or something else going on in the world? Are you looking for meaning or fulfillment in the wrong places?

Not sure if this helps your situation, but I’ve found this helpful for my anxiety, so I figure it might be worth sharing!

I believe that a lot of what makes people miserable is that they’re searching for some form of control. They want to keep this situation in control or that situation or the other situation! They’re afraid that things will erupt into chaos and that things will go beyond their control, even if keeping things the way they are is a bad idea.

But the problem is that life itself is chaotic! Always is. Always has been. There’s a reason for the saying, “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” So rather than try to keep things in control, I suggest this instead: embrace the chaos! Embrace, don’t fear, how out of control things can be. Embrace the unexpected things that life may or may not throw at you. Embrace the reality that nothing is ever certain. Do this, and you’ll gain peace of mind in any situation!

Or to make it short, the Joker was right, Batman was wrong!

That actually really puts things into perspective. The Joker analogy makes sense, but he’s still wrong. Regardless, you make an interesting point. I’ll have to think about that.

It’s okay. We’re all failing together. Forming relationships takes a certain amount of trial and error. You often have to go through people who aren’t worth your time to find the ones you can truly depend on.

I was making genuine progress with my new therapist (Easily the one with whom I’ve most clicked, and then a stupid stimulus caused me to backslide in my OCD. I barely survived this the first time, I can’t do it again. The medicine was helping, and I think I got complacent. If I’m lucky, it will be something I can work through. But I’m rarely lucky.

That’s quitter talk. You did it once, you can do it again! And the great thing is when your expectations for yourself are rock bottom, it’s easy to make yourself feel proud of the slightest improvement, which motivate you to make more positive change.

Its like how you get a positive result for covid rat test and then things start to get much worse by crying begging that the person wants all of his test negative and the boring thing is that the person has to isolate for a week which is tragic.

What do we do in this post-reality world where nothing in the physical world has any value? We’re glued to our screens because the only that amuses our adult brains are concepts, not objects. We ascend above materialism yet at the same time detach our tether to reality. Even when hanging out with friends most of the time comes down to just talking, which is a conceptual thing, not a physical one. Being physically at this or that restaurant does not do much for the experience does it? Eh, I guess it does, but only so much. What do we need from the physical world? Is travel the answer? Travel is always fun.

Yeah. Sadly where many go wrong is that instead of loving themselves and being respectful to others, they become bitter and mean, and eventually entitled, and before you know it, you have an incel.

When’s something gonna happen?

My mood for the past few days is Batman mourning his parents in an alleyway while sad music plays and the camera spirals around him.
