I’ve actually never played a Lego Star Wars game (I know, I’ve missed out…) and I might make this my first. I’ll probably get it for Switch. I hope it has crossplay as there are some friends of mine who might get it for playstation.

LEGO games don’t do online multiplayer, unfortunately. You’d think with them rebuilding the engine from scratch and rethinking every mechanic they could manage to online multiplayer, but I guess not.

Upon rewatching the trailer yet again, I noticed Dagobah really is there on the Galaxy map after all!

Looks incredible. The detail of the different planets, the lighting and shadow. How detailed the ships and locations are. It makes the last one i played from the original Xbox look like a joke.

Cant wait to try this. I have grew up with lego star wars on ps2/ps3 and to say those games were phenomenal is a understatement. I just hope this game is the same. Seeing how they have adapted the WHOLE SAGA this game is gonna be packed with content. I will most likely wait for reviews though. In my opinion the new combat style looks a bit weird and may take some getting used to but ther than that i feel the game will be good.

Any ideas of what console to get it on. I am stuck between 3
PC if mods ever release for it
PS5 for graphics and the controllers mechanics
Nintendo switch for portability so i can play it in School.

LEGO games never have a noteworthy modding scene. I’m gonna go with the Switch version. One thing you might want the PC version for is if you plan on recording or streaming your playthrough. On a first go I’d rather just relax and enjoy it at my own pace. I think I’ll watch each movie before playing it. It’s been 3 years since I’ve seen them. Having the game on Switch means I can play it on the train when I’m not busy with assigned reading.

That’s true, but they are out there. It’ll probably be minor mods, like tweaking character’s appearances (e.g., Anakin with a different hair model and a Sebastian Shaw ghost).

If you want a Star Wars game with an amazing modding scene, stick to 2005’s Battlefront II or Empire at War.

The thing about tweaking characters is that there’s already custom characters built into the game.

A number of articles and YouTube videos out today with actual gameplay footage. It all looks very enticing and fun 😃

One of the things I loved about the older Lego Star Wars video games were the vehicle levels, and the flying levels in this game look very cool and appealing.

The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

I’m very happy that “Luke with Yoda in his backpack” is a playable character! It’s such a fun visual.

Speaking of visuals, the demo sections really show a higher emphasis on visual humor than what was present in the more recent entries. I’m also happy that no reused movie voice clips are here, as those really felt out-of-place in the TFA game.

Is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Too Short!?

Is that your video? I enjoyed it and it raised some good points.

The open world aspect of this is something that I’m really looking forward. And like the guy in the video says about the Story Mode: Bring on Babu Frik vs Palpatine for the final battle!

It’s not mine, although I know the guy who made it because I’m in his discord server. He’s trying to grow his channel which is why I occasionally share videos from him on here.

I’ve now watched a few of his other videos, he is quite good and I’ll watch more of his stuff.

Come the weekend I’ll finally have some time to play this game for a few hours, and has been pleasing to see many people enjoy and rate the game highly so far.

I got it for Nintendo Switch the other day, only played a little so far but it’s really good. Mostly it’s giving me nostalgia for the films and making me want to watch them again - using the original score while you’re exploring each location is just perfect. Enjoying the humour and although I’m no gaming expert, the combat mechanics as well. Sometimes it’s fun just to lift a battle droid with the force and throw it into orbit.

It’s been joyous playing Lego Star Wars again. My only real critiques are I wish the levels were a tad longer with certain chapters and no character creation. I can’t complain too much though with all of the characters on offer and the vast open world we were given to explore. I’m sure Free Play will be great when I get around to it. Otherwise it’s been a true genuine blast to play with so many genuinely hilarious moments like Battle Droids playing the music for Dual of the Fates during the lightsaber fight between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan versus Darth Maul. As well as new things different from the original games such as getting to explore the Jedi Library with Obi-Wan before setting off for Kamino. I have a genuine hopeful feeling it’s going to help me continue to reconcile with the Sequels and in general Disney era. I’m finding it’s already helping me see again this new era is just as much Star Wars for a new generation. It may be different from what I grew up with loving in George telling his stories but it might still be enjoyable at times with an open mind. Onwards with continuing to enjoy the ride!
