Re-Specialized Edition / a cross between the definitive Editions and the theatrical original trilogy.

Hello fellow Scum and Villany,

Taking to the blogs today get feedback/ideas from everyone on a personal project I am working on called the “AM Re-specialized Edition” The idea for this being to use “Harmy’s Despecialized Edition” which near-accurately re-creates the original unaltered trilogy to its fullest, as a starting point, and to then only plug-in the updated special effects shots from the “Special (Definitive) Editions” when and where necessary for all 3 films… as on a personal level. . .this would create a version of the “Special Edition” that I feel “should have been” from 1997 onward. . . with no “added shots” inserted.

(Please note I am producing this project using DVD and Blu Ray Copies of the films that I own)

Are you only including the extras that were in the 1997 Special Edition versions?

Harmy made a ‘Re-Specialized Edition’ of Star Wars, as it was in 1997.

He never got around to making one for ESB or ROTJ.

I’ve been looking for a clean cut of the 1997 SE of ROTJ for years…
That was the first time I saw it in theaters. Still had Sebastian Shaw as Anakin force ghost.

Your project sounds cool Ahmesi. It would likely get more interest if you asked the moderators to move it into the “Star Wars Fan Edits” part of this forum, where lots of other projects are discussed and more people may talk about this?

Have you managed much progress in your edit so far? Do you also have an ideas list or cut list?
