Superbad 4K (35mm version test)

So I saw there’s a 4k copy of Superbad on Amazon. No official Blu-ray release atm – it seems to be an upscale, but they did a pretty decent job. Anyway, as a fan of the film and knowing it was released on 35mm, I wanted to do a little test to see how it might look. Given it was shot on the Panavision Genesis (digital) they actually did a pretty decent job of giving it a film-vibe (most Genesis projects did), but I just wanted to push it a little further, especially with the texture. Unfortunately, I don’t have the GPU power atm to pull this project off, but hopefully one day.

The grain and CC looks nice, but why would you crop it even more than the 1.85:1 aspect ratio?

You’re right it’s cropped a bit tight, could pull back a bit, the cropping is for emulating 35mm projection jitter.
