She would've made a better Democratic candidate than Kerry, that's for sure.

Who thinks that Hilary Clinton will run in 2008? Wouldn't surprise me any.

But seriously, I think this needs to be said. No one is beeing the thought police around here. Luke can think whatever the Kessel he wants about Jessica Simpson. He only hurts himself in the longrun.

But there has to be a balace. Thinking precedes saying, and saying precedes doing. What a man (or women, for the Politically Correct) thinks, so he is. I belive in freedom of speach but freedom and responsibility go together. Luke's thoughts simply don't need to be vocalized (or put in text in this case).

It isn't a matter of censorship or mysogony, it is just goes against common decency to let every perveted thought one has out into the world. If you must think it, keep it to yourself.

Not if Kerry wins this year. Then she may look at it in 2012 unless Edwards continues the democratic run by trying to take office then as the VP turned P ticket.

I'd like to see Hillary run for President; had she run this year, she would've been a serious contender against Dubya.

No, I don't think she'd be taken seriously just yet. She doesn't quite have the experience that many would want her to have. Give her at least another four years in office.

Fair enough, but Kerry with all his experience cannot overcome his lack of charisma; the only Democrat less appealing is Gore.

Being southerners, would the Dukes vote for Bush or Kerry?

Just kidding.

Heh heh.

being that Edwards the VP canidate is from the south, I'd they would vote with Kerry. After they foiled Boss Hogg's atempt at riging the election of course

If they did, I doubt a bunch of hicks who drive a car called General Lee with a Rebel Flag painted on the hood. (BTW, you could find some humor if you aply an alternate definition of "hood" to that phrase) would vote for one as liberal as Kerry.

Just my opinion. I've never really been a Duke's of Hazzard fan. Before my time.

[snide humor]True. Hicks and Klan members don't usually vote Democrat. If they vote at all they'll vote for Bush. [/snide humor]

the Duke boys may have been hicks, but they weren't klan members. And I guaranty you that who ever the Duke boys vote for, it would be the opposite of who ever Boss Hogg and Roscoe voted for. And I can't see Boss and Roscoe votting democratic.

Your comment about Jessica Simposon of course, and the subsequent comments from Reg about censorship. Read page three of this thread again.

Maybe, but I doubt they would vote for someone with values like Bush either. Corrupt people would, I think, tend to vote for corrupt people so their own corruptness (is that a word?) is overlooked--maybe even encouraged.

Huhwah?

My comments on censorship had little to do with Jessica Simpson's undoubted awkwardness in bed.

It was more a rant about the political correctness army of thought police that limit our free expression on topics they find sour or distasteful to their ears and eyes.

[Not trying to pick a fight with anyone here]
To say that Luke has no right to express his thoughts either verbally or in text IS censorship and IS similar to book burning or banning of controversial art et cetera.

To the quick to ban/burn I say look away.

That is all.

Oh boy I totally agree with this.

One merely has to look at the lapse in big business ethics when conservatives rule.

I don't see what Bush has to do with Enron and Haliburton.

They execs there and at Haliburton maid there desicions and I serioulsly doubt that any president would encourage their behaviour.

Except maybe Clinton, except for that he is a bleeding-heart liberal and there fore opposed to large businesses.

Okay, let's end the politics in the friggin' Dukes of Hazzard thread. Move it to the political discussion thread. I know I'm guilty of contributing as well, but I apologize and, since I created the thread, I'm asking that this discussion move now.

Any word on Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg?

I hope not. It's not that I have anything against Burt as an actor, but I'd love to see someone like Stephen Root tackle the role of Boss.

Stephen Root would be pretty good. Never considered him.

Come to think of it, Root is good enough to tackle either Boss Hogg or Roscoe.

Or how about John Leguizamo in a fat suit a la Spawn. Bring a little hispanic influence to the movie. We could call him "El Jefe Hogg."
