Yes, and no. One of the interesting things about both the classic Star Wars and the classic Empire is that they combine several versions of the film into the "definitive" theatrical presentation.
With the Star Wars one, would you want the mono mix or the stereo mix? Of course you'd want elements of both, so those were combined.
With the Empire one, would you want the 35mm mix or the 70mm mix? Of course you'd want elements of both, so those were combined.
The most "memorable" elements of several versions have been combined into the best version of the film that people can recognize as the original theatrical version ... when in truth of course it's taken a lot of work to create something that looks effortless!
And of course in addition you get a nice recent transfer of the picture.
It really is "how you remember it!"

The disc art I posted earlier for Empire, well, I used it and it looks awful. The picture I used to make it was just too low resolution and quite nasty. I've made some tweaks to it, and out of desperation applied a drybrush filter. It still doesn't look much better, so I'd REALLY like a higher quality version of that poster ....
