Indeed, that does make some sense. It’s a bit too much directed violence for Luke to commit (chopping off Boba’s hand).

If we want a “Boba Fett dies, no going back from it” (which I do), I’d suggest having his jet pack spark before Han’s hit, with the hit leading it to launch and explode midair (I.e., the rocket on his jet pack blows up). One could even show him sailing clear of the sail barge and exploding about a dozen meters away from it. Show the helmet dropping to the ground and one can easily assume what happened.

This would be for an edit that ignores the Disney+ shows, the modern EU and the legends EU. Or an edit that assumes that the Boba from Mando and BOBF is a fake who took on Boba’s identity (which may be more palatable for some).
