The original version of The Empire Strikes Back. Not the way it was, but the way you remember it.
Relive the original version of one of the greatest science fiction/fantasy films ever made, with this faithful reproduction of the original release of The Empire Strikes Back.
It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy. Evading the dreaded Imperial Starfleet, a group of freedom fighters led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space...
The Empire Strikes Back is not just a sequel to Star Wars. It goes beyond the original and in many ways surpasses it.
Using video from official DVD and laserdisc sources, the 1980 theatrical version of the film has been reproduced in pristine DVD quality, equal to the 2004 DVD release. CGI Special Edition elements have been eliminated, and a new soundtrack has been created for this disc, based on the 35mm mix heard on the 1993 Definitive Collection laserdisc, but reinstating some lines and music cues from the 70mm version as heard in more recent releases.
Relive the magic with one of the greatest science fiction/fantasy films ever made, the way you remember it. From the editor that brought you Deleted Magic.
