I’m trying to figure out all the TV episodes from the golden age (so the time the movies were out and popular, meaning 70s and 80s; this isn’t the thread for bringing up Family Guy) that reference Star Wars in any way. Like for example, Michael mentions Darth Vader in a Knight Rider episode. And the girls say they went to the Empire Strikes Back in a Facts of Life episode. That kind of thing. There’s more I’ve got, but I’ll leave some for the discussion.

Thanks for that link! I’ll definitely look into that page.

I did look at this page, and there’s not a whole lot in the realm I was looking for. I also wondered if there were specific things that stood out to forum members. And I know things are missing, like I didn’t see reference to that Facts of Life episode I mention in my OP. I also know of a mention of Luke Skywalker in a Silver Spoons episode, which wasn’t on the list either.

Not from the era without thinking longer about it.
From the 90s though the things that I recall immediately recall are the X-Files episode Small Potatoes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqNC2K4YbK0
And the ending of this Spaced episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XMkW1btoEM

Thanks! Yeah, I should have mentioned it in my original post, 90s is good too. I just didn’t want really modern shows.

I’ll cheat a little, and go with That 70’s Show.
There were around 10-15 episodes with references to it? A couple of episodes were focused on Star Wars, or going to see it. For me they got the reverence just right, Eric being the the super-fan, the others liking it through to thinking it okay, through to Red!

Muppet Babies referenced Star Wars in every single episode.
And The Muppet Show had a Star Wars themed episode, guest starring Mark Hamill.
If we’re including the 90s, there’s an episode of Friends that brings up adolescent fantasies about Princess Leia in the golden bikini.
Of course, Back To The Future mentions Darth Vader. (A movie, not television show, but whatever)
I always liked the little nods to Star Wars in Scrubs. Mainly because Scrubs was just great too:
The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

That Muppet Show episode was great. Really enjoyable. The “Pigs in Space” sketches in many of Muppet shows were always good for some Star Wars and sci-fi references too.
A little after the 80’s, but the mentions in “How I met Your Mother” were quite funny at times.

“Pigs in Space” was great fun when I was a young kid. I was disappointed when the weekly Muppet Shows didn’t have those segments in them. Gonzo as “Dearth Nadir” was cool to see, and obviously also Mark Hamill in the later episode.

In 1997 and after there were many SW references when the Special Editions came out and SW was all over the place again. For example Mark Hamill played himself in 3rd Rock from the Sun which probably came that year.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
