However, did anyone else hate the fact that the first 7 or 8 minutes of Simon rescuing River blatantly contradicted of "Serenity" (pilot ep of Firefly, not the movie) and "Ariel"?
In the pilot "Serenity" it was said that he spent his fortune making the contacts to get her out, and when they got her out they gave her to Simon in a stasis-cryo-whatever box so he could smuggle her back home. He never knew what it was that they did to her in the series and didn't find out until "Ariel."
But according to the movie Serenity, the contacts got him in, he was told exactly what they did to her by the guy that was doing it to her, and he got her out with help from the contacts.
It might be hard to do because the scene sets up the whole falling-on-your-sword thing and the Operative's character, but would anyone perhaps be willing to do an edit of the film to keep it in line with the series? It's not an end-of-the-world contradiction, but I'd still prefer it wasn't one at all.
